Kaupapa
Kupu Auaha is an arts journal committed to showcasing and uplifting the mahi auaha of Ngāpuhi creatives. Iwi inspired. Whenua inspired. Tangata inspired. We hope to encourage he uri o Ngāpuhi to explore, develop, and share their art, no matter their age or how far along the journey they are.
Kupu Auaha journal is grateful for the support and funding of Toi Ngāpuhi. This kaupapa was born after attending the 2023 Tai o Hī Tai o Hā Toi Ngāpuhi Wānanga. The first submissions are solely from the kāhui who attended this wānanga. In the near future, we hope to welcome submissions from any and all Ngāpuhi creatives.
Kupu Auaha is only online for now. Our aim is to eventually move into the realm of physical pukapuka.
